Welcome to Dad Club London!

I always knew I’d be a dad one day but I never imagined it’d be this much work! I now appreciate how much a club like this helps with getting through your days, helping each other out, exchanging “war stories”, and the general sense of camaraderie between gentlemen who enjoy raising their kids.

I grew up in Toronto and somehow ended up here in London. I managed to scrape myself away from a big-city, life-sucking desk job to go back to school and become a teacher. I met my husband here in London and we bought our first house together. As you might imagine, becoming dads was quite the challenge for us. We opted to have biological children through gestational surrogacy.

We asked our good friend Nicole to be our egg donor and we found Angela, our surrogate, through a surrogacy agency. Both incredible women invested a lot of themselves to help us become fathers to two amazing, energetic and healthy boys.

Today I’m a part-time special education teacher for the public school board and constantly seeking a chance to catch up on sleep. I dabble in photography and writing about the ups and downs of being a dad.

Being asked to help with Dad Club London was a true honour since I respect the men who invest their time into this project and I see the value of community… it truly DOES take a village and I’m proud to be a part of the group.
